-To understand that the value of a digit in one place is 10 times the digit to the right and 1/10th the digit to the left -Students need to be able to understand place values and be able to Demonstrate with manipulative -Have a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts -Be able to pass an assessment filled with problems based on place value and representing place values with unit blocks. |
