Being a teacher one of the hardest things to judge is how much of what you teach is actually being understood by the students. Another thing that is hard to control is how much students pay attention and try to learn. One of the best ways to asses how much the students are grasping as well as to understand how much the students are working is to have assessments. for my unit I will be having a pre-assessment to find out where the class is with the new materials and then after finishing my unit there will be another assessment that will be given to assess how well the students are grasping the materials and also see improvement over the week. Sometime in the middle of the unit I will be also having a pop-quiz that will help me understand where the students are in the topic so that I know if I need to take more time to explain stuff or to see if the students are grasping the concept already. One thing that I liked about this unit is that its so important to all of math and its the foundation for so much harder math.
*Due to the fact that we didn't have any projects there are no rubrics however I have included the pre-assessment, Because I did a unit on math it made it hard to have projects or papers that could have a rubric*
